I will be one of the DIY'ers installing Fogs so this is an important issue for me. We get bad fog here in the valley and Fogs can be necessity. As soon as i get my Z I'll be doing a write up. I'm already investigating possible options. This is not for looks though, in fact I feel that the less visible they are, the better.
again with this ****? Seriously is that necessary? Last edited by BanningZ; 03-07-2009 at 12:59 PM. |

Yeah i like for the look....is this bad.?
I beleive in as much light as i can throw in front of me. And i didn't really think about it as a necessity. If in fact it is necessary... a small high output set.. can be fashioned. Yes guys , its about the look. And you damn well know it. I have 2 japanese vehicles and they are rice Ok maybe not the best choice of words....but if you gotta have them. "does it look tacky" becomes less important...than..."damn they throw out good beams in the fog" Yes or No... And of course like, i said with black car it is easier to hide mistakes . If you keep it simple....it should work well and look.... strong i have a fog light fetish....is that bad....who here would admit there moils??? or better have the ball bearings too? It started in the pop up lights of the 87-92 supra acting as airbrakes at high speed....Bright fogs could be substitued for headlamps in spirited confrontation at night. C5 vette prime example and Ws6 airbrake headlamps.....did you geniuos's ever take that into consideration? i'd say .1 .2 second loss in 1/4 time...confirms this. If it was our 370z would you rather have 13.4 or 13.2 1/4 mile times stock. So started my love affair with fog lamps. the legal more aero way out. ** i know it does not apply to to the 370 or many modern cars. hell you know i'm right....they did away with it in the Zo6.. So there is usually a sane reasn why soemone is drawn to a mod....plus early mornings when i worked there was fog. So even better. And they do look damn good.....remeber there is a direct correlation for daytime running lights and people seeing you, not hitting you......gee why did Nissan put in rear fog light????? so its a safety thing as well even during a CLEAR SUNNY day. hence why BIkes alway have there lights hard wired on. I happen to enjoy the look of fogs on all the time. around my parts its like an unspoken car guy thing....laugh all you want . but if he is running fogs during the day..he's game to play. You say you struck a nerve on me? Might want to look at your 2 lengthy posts...
My purpose of stating what I have wasn't to flex my "high horsepower phallus" - its to point out, you calling anyone a ricer on this board may not entirely be wise...or accurate for that matter. Furthermore, "rice" is a state of mind. Not where the vehicle was manufactured. So is the ACR Viper rice, because it has a huge park-bench wing? If you're so hot about all these "super custom" fog light setups, I want to see them. Post them up, let everyone else judge how "classy" or "aggressive" they are. If you dont know how to post, mightybobo@gmail.com - send them to me, and I will. |

Thanks for the input guys. I know the car just came out, so I wouldn't expect anyone to have custom mounts yet, but just curious what people think about adding the lights. That said, this was never intended to be a rice thread, or pep boys, or whatever. I've driven a C5 Vette with PIAA 1100x mounted in place of the stock driving lights and the difference was huge. I'd just like peoples opinions as to whether it would work, or if not I'd like to hear that too, but genuine comments only please, not just generic put downs on rice...

I have removed the first set as they were to big...but i'm working on the small set.
Mind you its for looks not for real fog conditions. Yes the Acr is Ricey...... bat mobile rice. when i fit a correct set.. that looks as close to stock as i can get you'll be the first to get the pics. Like i said i have a fetish for fogs. but i don't want them shaking because they are mounted on poylemar. You'll see them. and you WILL like them. Sorry bout the rice it was inappropiate. mean will i'm dong the breathing mod and am in touch with cobb for a costum tune And i do like to explain my point and if 2 posts are needed so be it. You'lll get em soon enough Last edited by Zpil0t6; 03-09-2009 at 09:29 AM. |

I been searching, however haven't found anyone making the 370Z front fog lamps, the front grill definately has a spot for them. Keep me posted if you run across any..

FYI- I got a set of blue LED lights from IJDMToys
for $19 that work like a charm and look factory installed. Check them on on their site. They also have other lights for the interior and other locations that are worth a look- see!! I can send you some shots if you like. Big Boys Toys just off 495 did the instal. They were done with an on and off switch and work either at night or during the day. They ARE "de bomb"!! If you want some shots drop me an email at kenhdcgov1@aol.com Also had some speed work done as well as interior mods. More changes are in the works for the engine area. Great car, get it soon!! ![]()
