how was the installation? Was it easy? What you use?

JayYoon 05-10-2011 04:21 PM

anyone know how the installation works for this?

i think you just remove the front bumper, mount the LED strip with its double sided sticky tape under the headlights, wire to your parking lights (markers), and reinstall your front bumper.

now someonew was claiming the dealer was blaming his LED strip for his damaged harness so read into that as well. the LED strip should not take any more than 0.5A... my guess.

Those look great, definitely a nighttime mod although it is very subtle and stylish during the day. I may order a set to see how they look. I've always liked that "Audi" look.

An old thread..... I tried to order the daytime running light (DRL) kit directly thru Greedy today and their sales division said they are DISCONTINUED.

bummer.....any alternative vendors?

Been searching the forum and nothing but big $$$ for an entire head lamp mod and others that look like challenging DYI mods. I need to keep the price down at this point and only want the simple $99 kit.

Don't bother getting the kit if it's hard to find. Get one from this site; much cheaper and reliable. Super Bright LED Car Lights, LED Lights For Cars, LED Bulbs, HID Bulbs, HID Conversion Kits and Car Accessories

My Greddy LED DRLs had multiple LEDs on both sides burn out after only a couple months, a waste of over $100.

Hey thanks Christian, the link Super Bright LED Car Lights, LED Lights For Cars, LED Bulbs, HID Bulbs, HID Conversion Kits and Car Accessories is a toy store. A total newb here when it comes to bulbs/LEDs, DLR's.

I could not find on ijdmtoy.com the clear bulb for the front headlights upper orange turn signal bulb that you recommended to NewYorkJon on your 4 sale thread. Not even sure if these are white when they emit or if they will look good versus some yellow bulbs to keep them legal in CA. Up for suggestions.

As far the DRL, I am at a total lost on what to get or will fit.

Here is the post from the 4 sale thread: http://www.the370z.com/845154-post25.html

Well, the bulb number is 7444NA and here is a link to LED replacements if that works for you (7443 bulbs work as well):

Here is a chrome coated amber bulb (filament) that will work:

Btw, thanks for the feedback on the Greddy LED DRL's, I ran across your post with photos and could not tell what went wrong with them, other than they looked like the plastic housing broke in half. Good to know Greddy discontinued them as like you said " a waste of over $100".

Majestik, how did you connect the LEDs?

Colbizle 02-13-2012 04:16 PM

I just purchased the ijdmtoy flexible LEDs like the others on here and the led has two wires coming out of it... but I am not sure which wire to connect to the splice and the green wire (parking light). There is no instructions on this install. Is one wire for power and the other for ground? The wires are red or black either which makes it difficult to know like on the greddy's. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

OK so I just tried installing the ijdmtoy Audi A5 R8 Style LED Strip Lights last night... Either both LED strips are bad (doubtful) or I suck (probably true.)

So I tapped into the green parking light like most people on the forum said to do. I did this by pulling out the parking light bulb, removing the electrical tape to expose the green wire, then I stripped the green wire a little and then I wrapped the (red looking) wire from the LED strip to the exposed green wire and then I wrapped the dark (grayish) looking wire to a ground or bolt. I turned on the lights and nothing!

I'm confused about the two wires. Are they both for power? Is one for ground and the other for power? Which wire is which based on color?!

Please help! lol it's driving me nuts. :)

Those don't look bad. Like 'em better than the 2013 DRL's.

ZForce 02-21-2012 02:40 PM

I will check with my installer. Yeh...I remember they were confusing. Just PM'd him to see if he remembered.
