What radar detector you use?

I just returned an ESCORT Passport 9500ix GPS Enabled Radar Detector. It was wonderful, only thing I disliked was its visibility on the dash. If you can live with this it worked well. It spoke and told me when I approached a red light camera, which band or laser. It learned the traditional false alarms such as grocery store doors stopped after three alerts.

Being visible to thieves but mostly to the police who must see these detectors as reasons to write a ticket caused me to send it back after 30 days. They have another remote detector the 9500ci but it costs about $2000 installed. Just a bit more than I want to spend.

You live in california and radar detectors are legal here. What are you talking about....?
I've had mine for 3 years and it never caused me a single ticket even after being pulled over and the cop asking me about the device...
