here you go... the shaft was also hitting the fender lip ledge so bent it down. i tried adding some
spacers on the ball joint post but only helps marginally. ![]() ![]() the root cause of the rubbing is the damper housing is still rubbing the battery cover surround... this you'd need to make a new bracket for the hood side, i thinks. updated the DIY section as well.

Im going to check our 370z. We couldnt find any rubbing. deff going to look for this tomorrow. good review, will be passing this off to the tech guys so they can look over a few things.
Both suby and nissan use the same length damper. I will be looking at the packaging tomorrow. |

![]() then the plastic cover just flexes downwards freely when it gets pushed down by the damper housing. it's not bad though. im a pretty picky guy and this is still okay for me. |

i think the cover (battery/brake cover surround piece) is still rubbing but it can flex more freely so you'll have less bulge. this is just my guess but it makes sense if you saw how the car is put together.

Mine came in today. I also have a few pre-fabbed ball plates coming to relocate the fender ball in toward the engine a bit (outside the trim) so there won't be rubbing on the plastic battery cover or need for any tweaking/modification. These should be here tomorrow or Fri. so I'll play around with a few alternative mount points and let everyone know.....Should be a simple, inexpensive mod..

Looking forward to your results, a bit concerned now about getting these and having the rubbing issue(s).

Which way was left for you? Passenger side or driver side?

I will see what I can do when I get mine in, I still have my stock pieces to compare to and removing the rubber is not a huge concern unless I find issues closing/opening the hood.

just becareful when you're pulling down the hood from full-open position so that you dont work against the dampers too much initially. once the dampers start compressing it will be very smooth and the hood will shut like normal.
once you unlatch and pull up the hood to open, it opens pretty quickly so might want to keep a hand on it just in case so you dont upper-cut yourself.
