it looks like the wind from the drive, made it point up. that's why you couldn't see the car anymore.

yes, I think wind forced one these bend to move. Perhaps it wasn't tightened enough?

BTW, please accept my apology. Youtube has deleted two of my accounts (one with 140 videos and other with 70 :shakes head:). I'm gonna try to get these videos up soon. Then you can compare how closed vs open etc sounds like. Also, I'm updating the software in about 10 minutes :woot:. I can't wait to flip my video (and use 1 touch recording)

yep the wind forced it to move up.

I needed screw driver to tighten it more, that was the max I could do by hands.

Thanks for the info.

Where are you guys getting the best deals on these? And is the HD a huge step up from the normal 'wide' version they have? I was thinking about getting the old normal version at pep boys for the track night this wednesday, but I might wait if its really that much better

I got mine from ebay

I think you can get one for $230-240 easily.

I haven't done much research between normal and HD version, but what I have read is its a massive step up from older version.

Also, why get non-hd these days? it's all about quality now

Seether13 11-09-2010 05:21 AM

Can't wait for the re-up of the videos!

Yes, it IS a huge step up from the regular. Video quality is amazing. It's all about HD these days, so why not get it. Also, I think GO PRO HERO is about $180-$190 where this new HD one is about $50 more (from ebay) or $70 more from our forum vendor (Authorized dealer). Get it , it's worth it

I have just re uploaded ALL the videos :woot: Can I get some rep points? haha J/K ;). Yes, please read the description of the video first before you click "play". In some videos you will clearly see the difference between "open" and "closed" lid.

Also, please accept my apology on some early videos (video size). I shot with R4 setting (which is not full WIDE screen. It was my 2nd week of playing around with it :o. I think later videos are 720P full screen WIDE).

Now here's the most exciting part, I will try to update the software today which enables me to flip the video. This opens up a whole new door of possibilities ;). I actually have two AWESOME inside mount idea in my head that you can use at the track (HPDE, Driving Education etc). Please stay tuned. Also, PLEASE feel free to post your video. Don't forget to give us what setting you used and whether it's open or closed backing.

Thank you

update: I got my camera today. Ontrac delivered it. At the price I got it for, I had to see if it was the correct one (HD). I drop my Black ops cd that I just got and opened the camera box. And it was legit. Now I need a memory card. What size memory card do you guys recommend?? I don't think I need a 32gb card. Will a 4 or 8gb be enough?

 Awesome man! Congrats! I have a 8GB CLASS 10 (the fastest I think). Pretty happy with mine. I get about 11min/GB with my frequently used setting (R3 720p @ 60 frames).

Thinking about getting the rollbar mount

Hey guys,
I'm thinking about getting the roll bar mount. I recently attended a BMWCCA Motorsports event where they didn't allow any camera mounted on suction mount  . Not sure why because when mounted inside on glass with a suction mount, you can't pull it off!

So, do you guys think this can be used on the bar right behind the seats?

I'm also getting the tripod mount

That roll bar mount might be too small because it's for a bicycle. You can use one of those curved mounts on that bar.

As for the suction mount, there is a tap on the rubber suction cup. Just pull it off the glass and the whole thing should come off. I heard that suction cup can pull dents off a car...so just be careful with it. lol
