Here's one more pic showing my car in natural light after I used Dr. Colorchip.

Looks good, thanks for the pics. I was thinking of using this on another vehicle, and just might do it after seeing some of your results. Thanks.

I've used Dr. Colorchip on a BMW, crimson red non metallic, and it worked great. I plan to order a kit for the Z soon.

Semtex,

It will get better with time too, but looks great now! Before I started using Dr. Colorchip I began with Langka which is another good source for chip repair.

Looks very good. I wonder if that stuff will work on top of a filler primer or in multiple layers in order to completely fill the chip... Overall though it looks like very good results, especially considering the size of the chip. My 350z has chips like that on the doors and even the roof... I've used touchup paint from paintscratch.com and after trial and (unfortunate) error, I finally came up with a process for using it that provided results similar to yours, difference is it takes about 2 hours my way- and it's a lot more work.

Yep, the instructions say that you can put as many layers on as you want. I actually put 3 layers on, then I just got lazy and said 'eh, good enough'.

Nice 1 Semtex - looks like you've done a good job of disguising and protecting.

How long did it take to clean the excess paint?

okay so i was washing my car today and i also found a chip in my paint!!!! fudge!!!!! it was also on the driver side door panel. damnit. i guess i need some dr. colorchip as well.

edit - just placed an order with dr.colorchip. i have platinum graphite color. for those that want to know the color code in the USA, it's K51. anyways, i put in the comment section for them to do a double check on the color code just in case it's not platinum graphite. i'm playing it safe so i don't get a wrong color in the mail. hopefully i get it soon.

i'll post some pictures on the before and after... when i get to it.

I spent all Saturday afternoon rubbing Langka all over the various touch ups I did last weekend. That smell's still making me nauseous.

The one good thing about it is that I can use the same bottle on every car I have, I don't need to make an order for every car I buy.

You can use the same bottle on every car with Dr. Color Chip as well. It's only the actual touch up paint that varies from one car to another.

Yes that's true but I don't see an option to buy only their special touch up paint on their website, just the whole kit. You can use any generic touch up paint with Langka.
