Default Post Accident Paint Blending???

Heya, good afternoon forum folks. Im hoping I can get some insight here..

Recently someone hit my front bumper in a parking lot and drove away (really ****ing lame). So I took it into a body shop to have the front bumper replaced. They replaced the bumper and painted it the same color as the rest of the car (pearl white), but unfortunately they weren't able to get the white the exact same color as the rest of the car... So they want to "blend" the new paint up onto the rest of the body a little bit.. Honestly it seems kind of shady..

Is the Nissan Pearl White a special paint thats blended uniquely at the plant thats hard to replicate?

Anyways, thanks for any insight.

That is an absolutely normal and acceptable method for repairing. On the plus side, your hood and fenders will get a nice new clearcoat too.

and since your car's still new, there won't be any drastic contrast between the blended parts and oem paint parts.

Yeah it's completely normal, the pearl is really hard to match.

Shady, no! It's a kind of standard procedure, to blend in point A, with point B.

I believe you "can not" wax for about a month after painting. Ask them to be sure of that!
