Default Pop Rivets Sheared Off

So I have rhino ramps and made wood platforms to put before the ramps so the front flaps would not catch. When using the ramp today I was having my girlfriend line me up and she adjusted the ramps but did not push them up to the wood platforms so when I got the the end of the wood platform it teeter into the side skirt and got stuck. When I reversed the wood went under the car and it sheared some plastic pop rivets off. For the life of me I cannot find where there came off of, there are 6 of them I found in the ground. Anyone have any insight?

I have attched a photo of the general location the wood platform was stuck and the sheared pop rivets.

Check your side skirt? It's held on by 7 bolts - the only clip is next to the rear wheel. I've worked on a Z where half the bolts were replaced by clips.

Check the fender liners also.

Not sure, but all of the pop rivets are exposed, since they are the first thing to be removed on several of the plastic pieces. I'd bet you had some shear off from the fender well when it snagged the bottom.

Just fyi, those pop rivets are super cheap on Amazon by the bagfull and come with a little prying tool.

These rivets are those you should replace when taking them out. The heat and environment exposure will make these things weak. As mentioned, you can get these on Amazon for really cheap. I bought a bag of 100 for like $5 and came with the prying tool.

Be careful with plastic pop rivet replacement as not all rivets are the same length. For instance the plastic rivet for the front splashguard goes through two thicknesses of plastic before entering metal and is longer than a "standard" plastic rivet and has a different part number.

I bought some cheap plastic rivets off Amazon with the correct Nissan part number for the front splash guards but when they arrived they were the same length as the "standard" length plastic rivets.

Why did I buy 50 off Amazon when I only needed 2 OEM Nissan rivets? It was much cheaper.

This should go without saying, but yes, check the size before ordering. I ordered 2 sizes: the shorter and longer rivets, both of which were useful on my car.

Also, why buy only 2 when they will need to be replaced each time you pop them out? $.50 versus $5.00. I think I'll make the gamble and spend the $5.00 lol.

Thank you all for your help, I should be digging in any day now and let you know what I find. My main guess is the side skirt but while I'm doing that I will check the fender lining.

Another source of rivets is body shops. I can get a big handful for a few bucks at a place a few miles from my house.

Nissan dealerships typically have a ton of cars just sitting around. Lots of free plastic clips available
