Default Mystery part on dash

So, today I noticed a square cutout in the underside of the dash on my 2017 roadster. It's at the bottom of the lower dash panel, slightly to the left of the steering wheel. You can only see it when you're looking up at it from near the floor. There are two holes next to it, presumably for fasteners, so I figure this must be the location for some part that is used for options that I don't have.
Anyone know what it is?
Thanks!
Steve

Looks like the area the OBD port is located in

Yeah, but my OBD port is alive and well, further to the left. You're right, though, that would be a good candidate for that location.

That seems to clinch it! You guys are right.
I suppose at some point the started moving the OBD port over to the left (as on my car), and left the mounting hole in the dash.
Thanks to everyone for clarifying this mystery.
