I was told by a respected friend too click the a/c button off about 2 miles from your house to reduce condensation that feeds the mildew. I also spray Lysol in the vent every so often. Allergies problems. Change out your cabin filter or put 1 in? my 3 cents

works great for me in both of my cars, if I can only get me wife to do the same in hers!
She has the same problem.

Yes turn off AC and run fan only to dry Evaparator core. On top of this don't waste time with filter as it's likely not a filter, sure a febreeze filter will mask it, but evap core foam cleaner will clean and destroy at source of smell. All you do is spray cleaner into the drain tube and the foam expands up into core and drains back out.

Must be a design flaw, never happened to me in a brand new car. I wonder what nissan will do, if anything.

Thanks for all of your suggestions.......

Nissan Didn't program the cars to open the blower motor re circulation vent when the car is turned off. so if you always recirculate the AC the vent stays closed. simply opening the vent when you turn off the car will get rid of this problem. software engineers dropped the ball on this one for sure but it's a simple fix.

I sprayed Lysol in the intake vents in front of the windshield, with the AC set to outside air, and it took care of it.

Change the in cabin air filter to a carbon filled filter. Change them every 15k miles. Works good for me.

The moldy smell is a common problem with air conditioners in cars and trucks. To prevent this from occurring, turn off your a/c a few miles before you reach your destination.

But to remove the smell once you've got it, what I do is pour a diluted mixture of bleach & water (20/80) down the front windshield.

Just used this on mine this weekend. Mine was smelling incredibly nasty. Not just moldy.
Had to go in from the inside which was a PIA, but it cleared up the nasty beautifully.

I currently don't have access to a lift to spray the evap core cleaner from bottom drain hose. Did you go thru the passenger side like in this picture?

I went in behind the glove box. I never could find the drain under the car. I found what someone "said" it was and it wasn't.

I had to pull the glove box, then pull up the carpet and basically stand on my head to reach the eval, but it was worth it. Mine was stinking REAL bad.
