STILLEN 370Z Urethane Fascia - Sneak Peek - In Development
We wanted to give you a sneak peek at the 370Z fascia that we've been working on, and describe some of the planned features of this new piece.
As always this front fascia will be constructed out of durable polyurethane. Polyurethane is definitely a more expensive process when it comes to building the molds and the machinery required but the durability, quality, and fit and finish of the final products are by far superior. When we sat down to discuss the concepts of the fascia the number one thing we all agreed on was function. This fascia needed to supply as much air as possible to some of the key components of the car. Some of those considerations were, STILLEN Gen 3 Intakes, intercooler systems, additional coolers, possible brake cooling. Another hot topic were the O.E. fangs. Some people love them, some people hate them, but without question they are a very distinct feature on the car. To please everyone and again, improve functionality we are going to make a modular piece that will attach to the inside of the center opening and will resemble the O.E. fang pieces as well function as brake ducts. These pieces will be available options for people who want to add them later on but will not be included in the main kit. So, here are the photos, we hope you enjoy, and as always your feedback is welcomed! http://www.stillen.com/downloads/370Z_1.JPG http://www.stillen.com/downloads/370Z_2.JPG http://www.stillen.com/downloads/370Z_3.JPG |
Those side vents are huge, maybe big enough to throw the oil cooler to the side. :)
Will the vent's be functional for brake cooling?
edit read the function options...duh |
I am not sure what to think of yet. Might have to wait and see the finished product. I am up in the air right now.
It's tough to visualize sometimes when products are in this stage of rawness, and not sure these pictures really give a good impression, but wanted to post them rather than wait.
this makes me excited :D i can see it now.....
I am liking it, seems like a clean, not overstated design, does look a little high for a bumper, but then again might just be the picture, one thing I hope is that the bumper, matches and is at the same height of any sideskirts you guys make so it flows, unlike other kits where the sideskirts are lower then the front bumper.
As you can see this has been modeled off of the factory fascia so it is the same height as factory. We will definitely be building the rockers to match this ride height.
Interesting. I'll have to see how the grill opening is 'dressed' and would want to do the brake cooling kit (assuming there will be one) at the same time. Otherwise those huge vents just dead end and look silly. I wish the line of the headlights was carried down through the lateral borders of the front grill. Maybe the fang insert will do just that.
since its the same height as the stock bumper will there be like a additional lip kit like the zele carbons own? except in poly.... :D
I like it. Will be keeping an eye on this
Hmm, not sure. I was hoping for just a bolt on lower lip spoiler in urethane.
Mike, I think they are doing that ALSO.
This bumper looks very Stillen. I would like to see a finished version. Kinda makes the front end look narrower. |

In comparison to the factory nose this is actually anch or so longer. Also we did kick around the idea of smaller ducts (which are what's behind the cardboard) and they just looked too wimpy. Also the primary goal is increasing the amount of air through the car and as someone mentioned those large openings on the sides are perfect for additional coolers :).
This will please many who always preferred the 350Z front end.
I also WILL Defer judgment until I can see some fitment in the intake area, but what a fabulous job. Thanks, Stillen, for the preview! |
Will have to see it painted. Not quite sure about it -- almost looks like it'd be more at home on a 350.
as of now i am liking the front end, i woud be interested in option of adding the fangs but im not sure. I guess i have to see how it looks first. defintely like the air ducts, its aggressive which is something i hoped would be incorporated in the thought process behind the build, and it looks like it was soo thank you for listening stillen! :tiphat:
I honestly am just waiting for the right lip. I think the stock fascia looks great and think the right lip kit is just going to look tops. I do like the Mine's but at this point I'm not sold on carbon fiber and can think of a number of other things to drop $1200 on.
I like what I see so far!
I like it. Really nice work.
Now i just finished making a post about most of the 370z body kits being rice but this i like...except for the ducts...they r abit to big. Is there a price range on this? I need a new from fascia since my gf messed up my stock one.
I like the way this looks, with the fangs inserted with duct functionality, I think this will be a great addition to my Z, the front opening looks a bit large, but I think the fangs would close it up and make the piece look great.
I think it looks pretty good.
My only suggestion (not that it looks terrible now) would be to maybe get rid of the area in the upper air-dam that is a design element on the stock bumper. It's that section the license plate is normally mounted too, unless that is needed to cover the crash beam or something. Let people who are going to run the front plate buy your plate bracket that attaches to the tow hook mount and everyone else will have more room for intercoolers or intake ducting. If you keep it please tell me you guys are going to paint it satin or flat black when you show the finished sample ;) |

I'm in for more pictures, I am in the ehhh-I-dunno boat. Here is my thoughts..
I think its actually really well thought out but I think its almost 'too function' and I mean that because when all the openings are overly big and exagerrated - to me - it comes off like that front bumper on the eclipse of the FF movie. A tad to boxy. ...with that said, I think its got perfect overhang, I would love to see it with those functional fangs because that might add the 'difference' it needs but I would play around with slightly more overhang for slightly smaller openings and have the openings on the side meet with the lines of the fender in that nismo sort of way. Think Nismo meets Zele, and you got your new Stillen front bumper. Functional and sexy! |
Subscribing for updates..
Will that fit a on G37? lol just messing |

I'm liking what I'm seeing. I'd definitely consider that if I had a Z

nice work tho  can't wait to see it :excited: |
if you made a rear section this aggressive to go along with the front i would def buy the kit
I like it.
Keep it inexpensive, as others have suggested... I love the large brake ducts, and agree that it would be helpful for you guys to offer an optional brake duct kit that integrates with this fascia... as you know, brake overheating is an issue on this car and folks could use a turn-key solution... also, please create a horizontally flat 'air damn' below so that we can add our own splitter. You might even consider getting one of Robi-spec's front splitter kits and integrating this in, with his participation of course.... or make your own and make it an option with the fascia. |
Kyle and Stillen,
Thank you guys for stepping up to the plate and into making us a front bumper. I do have a few constructive critiques on the design. One of the things that drives me from the kit is the lack of body line "flow" the side scoops are very geometrical on a very rounded body. This is unpleasing to the eye to me and some others. I would like to see the center section where the crash bar is come forward and be flush with the rest of the bumper. I would also like to see the bumper a little lower or closer to the ground in regards to the side skirts. The side scoops I feel should follow the lines of the headlights and should have a smooth transition back into the bumper with less hard lines. Best of luck and I cant wait to see the final product. |

If you don't mind, I just want to answer some of your design input and say that they are all good ideas however some of them don't work due to functionality. For example, that crash beam. While it's not the most ideal and in all honesty we were trying everything we could to get around it, we needed to keep that design element in place to allow access to the Gen. 3 velocity ram design. There is a cut out just below the nose of the bumper that uses the shape of the crash beam to direct airflow straight into the Gen. 3 intakes and future intake/intercooler configurations for superchargers later on. I will definitely mention your ideas on the relationship of the scoop to the headlight though. I know what you mean however I think the blue (bondo) is just throwing off the eye as I'm pretty sure they are already parallel. I will also mention to our designer's that the bumper might need to be a little lower since there have been more than a couple people expressing concern with this. One thing to keep in mind too is that this car has not been lowered. As soon as we lower it that will change a lot! |
I like the idea too.
There's something about the execution that is turning me off though. I think the brake vents protrude too much and are not really in harmony with the rest of the car. Like someone said, its not the most flowing of designs. It is exactly what a 370z Stillen fascia should look like; its very much like your other kits and body parts. I think more pics and I will get a better idea though. |

Haha.
I think there might be a little confusion. Those side scoops are designed for additional coolers such as trans or oil. The brake ducts are yet to be incorporated into this design.
