What is the 500s mirror type?

Check the link I posted. It is supposed to make things more visible.

Interesting. I notice rhdjapan doesn't offer any of those options on their site. I just emailed them to see if they offer the the r type option.

Japan parts will allow both. They mentioned to include you want the extra options and they will request the extra cost thru PayPal. Once I buy I will verify the process.

I did notice that on japan parts website. I've already placed an order with rhdjapan. I wouldn't mind getting the r type option though if available.

I am glad you all are moving forward with the mirrors.

Sounds like you're really happy with yours. I swear if I don't, one of these days I'm going to accidently run over someone in a crosswalk.

Beyond happy with them. The car looks much more raw now and less dumbo ear like haha.
All blind spots are eliminated now and the car looks a lot better so cant beat that.

I was shocked when i ordered from rhdjapan for 500ish shipped and they were on my door exactly 4 weeks later!!!

It's funny. When I got my car back in May, one of the first things I noticed when I got inside were the big mirrors and the blind spots. Yeah, I could live with them but if I could find something better, I'm certainly going to give them a try. Hell, I'm modding everything else, why not these. It's only $500.00. My SPL fuca's cost more than the mirrors and they're only a small part of the suspension work I'm doing. :rofl2:

I was able to add the r type option from rhdjapan, it was an $80.00 extra cost. They have been great to deal with, they respond right away to emails (barring the time difference).

Wait, why do people want the Type-R option? isn't that the cap that makes the mirror immovable?

Seems like you'd want adjustment at some point . . . am i missing something?

Now you've me wondering. I was under the impression that it just locked it into place once adjusted as to not vibrate loose under hard driving. How does it make it immovable? I definitely don't want it permanently locked in place.

OptionZero 07-31-2017 04:50 PM

Maybe i misinterpreted it that then.

If its "locked" as to keep it stable and can be unlocked with whatever screw, then yeah . . great

if its "locked" like permanently? i could see a race car doing that but i dunno why a street car ever would

I was just going by what a previous poster found on the Craftsquare website. "R-Type- This indicates a racing model option. This option includes a specific black base and a lockable cap applied to the standard F and N1 mirror to secure the mirrors under intense vibration".
I took that as it is can be unlocked too. I would assume it's probably some kind of set screw that locks them in place.
