Craftsquare Carbon mirrors

So I ordered a set of craftsquare mirrors and 4 weeks later they are scheduled to be delivered to me from Japan. 500 shipped through RHDjapan!

I am in Cali this week but once I getback I will install and post pics :) stay tuned.

I wanted to let you all know as 4 weeks from order date is decent!! Price was good too

Which style did you get? I picked these up not too long ago.

Why these mirrors? Rearward vision is shitty as it is. I see no need to make it worse by adding smaller mirrors

I believe these actually have a wider angle lens so you actually see more than the oem mirrors. Besides the oem mirrors are ugly and way too tall but have horrible side visibility.

Because race car.

Smaller forward blind spot.

I find these 'race' mirrors too ugly. I would stay with OEM.

:iagree:

Volk Z 06-26-2017 07:26 PM

Actually these eliminate 2 blind spots vs. The stock truck mirrors. Thanks for all your opinions. ;)

Anyway it was posted to let people know that want a smaller slimmer mirror.

Volk Z 06-26-2017 07:27 PM

When I added on my 350z it eliminated the front left turn blind spot and the rear visibility was improved greatly.

Hard to get a shot that represents where my eyes actually are but at least you can see how much space it opens up vs. having the big dumbo ear oem mirrors in the way.

The 'left turn/people in the crosswalk blind spot' is about to make me change out my mirrors. I've got a set of Ganadors (wanted to retain the power adjustment) that need painting first

Volk Z 06-27-2017 09:15 PM

Yeah that left turn blind spot sucks!! Way worse than the other blind spot for rear viewing.
Love the pics installed guys!!

Volk Z 06-27-2017 09:17 PM

Did any of you add some weather stripping on the backside? I did that on my 350z but wasn't sure if you all did on yours?

I did not. Three screws mount it securely with no issues.

Have you considered adding some CF wrap to cover the mounting plate & screws?

Sweet mirrors

Sweet mirrors

I have not considered it, until you mentioned it. I might have some wrap left to give it a try.

Hopefully it's a similar weave/color:tup:

madwi 06-28-2017 06:56 PM

That is the issue I can see. Might have to try a couple different wraps. After looking at it a bit more, I think it may be a touch too much CF. Cant hurt to try it though and see how it looks. Maybe Cooltoy will photoshop it for me.

Volk Z 06-29-2017 03:13 PM

I like the black base, or actual carbon wrap.... :)

damn i def want these, too bad theyre not electronically adjustable...

Hotrodz 07-01-2017 07:00 PM

I have the EVO-R knock offs and they are awesome. I love them on the track!

Volk Z 07-02-2017 09:49 PM

THe EVO-R ones fit horrible in my opinion. I returned mine due to the almost 1 inch gap on the front bottom. Seems to be a common trend.

ALso I got the no stem version as those are not 'knocked off" by EVO R like the stem version is.... So you know its authentic JDM Yo..lol

I mean my M7 Japan coilovers and Amuse titanium it was only fitting I guess.

But for real your EVO-R Mirrors look good man ^^^^^

Evo-R are Taiwan though lol...
Yeah I'm thinking maybe the newer ones with them had fitment issues...

Pics needed!

Lovin' the mirrors you sold me. (Guess I need to get a pic too. I think they set off my car. With carbon roof, black headlight and the mirrors, car's looking pretty decent IMO.)

Great guy to deal with BTW. Couldn't ask for better.

RyanWest 07-15-2017 03:29 PM

I like them, kinda expensive though...

I added a pinstripe to mine. Also covered all the red. So font is carbon and sides and rear are carbon vinyl

madwi 07-20-2017 08:26 PM

Stripe goes good with the seats and pearl white.

Thanks guys. You know pics never do our mods justice. I appreciate the comments

CJBinder 07-22-2017 10:40 AM

I want these so bad. I found you can get them on https://www.japanparts.com/parts/detail/51444. For tracking is it best to get the extended arm or not?

madwi 07-22-2017 02:38 PM

I believe the extended version locks into place once you set them. Would probably be ideal for the track, especially if people are walking around the vehicle often. It is a pain in the *** to get the passenger side lined up by yourself.

Thanks for the information, but I am a bit confused, found this on site Craft Square TCA-F / TCA-N1 (Touring Competition) Mirror with basic description of the differences.

Quote:

Installation Types

Type F
Mirror Dimensions are 183mm wide and 73mm high
Type F position is 43mm lower and the mirror is further out for good visibility.
F type Mirror has a single attachment point for a cleaner look.

Type N1 (these have a long stem)
Mirror Dimensions are 183mm wide and 73mm high
Type N1 position is 43mm higher, but brings the mirror closer.
N1 mirror has a stem that passes through the mirror case.

OPTIONS

/R-Type
This indicates a racing model option.
This option includes a specific black base and a lockable cap applied to the standard F or N1 mirror to secure the mirrors under intense vibration.
Not a big fan of the stem showing thru the top but at the same time I would figure that setup would push the mirror out farther giving a better angle but I guess it is higher up so maybe not. But I am interpreting the F type has better visibility based upon the info quoted.

Would like to make sure and get R Type option but I don't see it on the two sites. Going to inquire on extra options available.

I hate our dumbo mirrors!

Volk Z 07-22-2017 07:51 PM

I got them in 4 weeks from order date from rhdJapan. Both the stem style and thethe ones I have now I have owned both versions. Personally I like the no stem look better. Vision wise is the same as both are wide angle mirrors. I locked them in so they are stuck where they are at for life haha.

Took me 25 min to install and 5 min for the pun stripe2 which sets it off I feel.

I have gloss red forgestae wheels on the way ao it will all tie in

Sweet so not to bad installing? I will be ordering soon. Love the look on your car. Any gotchas or things to be careful of when installing?
