Now you guys can be the expert and tell me which direction is correct lol!

cooltoy 11-05-2017 09:18 AM

I saw that the louvers would be turned in the opposite direction, but the piece would flow with the hood better if it were turned around. Is it possible that they built the louvers backwards? Or is it that you placed them up side down? Shouldn't the louvers be pointing down into the hood and not sticking up? Like in this pic (looking from windshield down the hood).

http://counterspacegarage.com/wp-blo...1-1024x439.jpg

It's hard to see from the pictures how you have them oriented.

Just wondering, not questioning you or the product. I am sure all will be clear once we see it on Eagles hood.

You are right about the direction of vents, looking at other products, they flow well with hood lines, and those 370 vents, if they are turned they will flow with our hoods as well.

I may be wrong but I really don't think so. In checking out many of their pictures there some vent that are like the one I posted where the vent is larger at the front than the rear. I guess will see when eagle get's his mounted.

Not if you flip the vents upside down. But yes the larger part goes upfront. Either way, I'm sure they gonna look awesome once installed. Do these close for washing?

The direction is correct, but I think Hotrodz has them upside down. Those vent support bars need to be pointing into the hood. If the vents are turned upside down, then I think they will also need to be turned 180°, and will follow the hood lines. Or I could be wrong since I am not there.

That may be correct...I am not at home so I will check this afternoon.

Hey you disfunctional unit. :rofl2: After you get home from your ball game. Flip the vents over so the the center bar is down. Position the middle vent with the small side in the front. Think the small vents need to be swapped side the side. The left on the right and right on the left. See how that looks. From looking at the new pictures. You have them up side down and asss backwards. :tiphat:

sirnixalot 11-05-2017 02:48 PM

Can’t wait to see how they look installed in the right orientation. Will you be mounting them on the top or from the bottom?

OhioYJ 11-05-2017 03:37 PM

These are made out of aluminium?

How soon before we can actually order them?

So let me get on the band wagon you "Fart Smuckers!" Yeah the orientation was right but I dyslexia was in full force as I did place them upside down LMAO. So we all win! And that is why I did not go into engineering and it has been a long time since I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express!:wtf2:

Thanks for all your patience and feel free to continue to pile on as I deserve it!:bowrofl::bowrofl::bowrofl:

KF365 11-05-2017 05:09 PM

quick question
these look great just wondering if he did any pressure testing to see if these points are actually low pressure areas so we can guarantee air comes out

I don't know if any actual test were done or it was computer simulated. When I looked at where the SpecTrac vents line up compared to my Fugimora hood they are spot on. The only difference is the SpecTrac vents are way bigger. :yum:

Thanks. I was looking at some pictures on a Corvette forum and they looked aluminum, but oddly enough I couldn't find this info on their website. Perhaps I overlooked it.

I'm interested, let us know when they actually have them ready.

They are made of high grade aluminum!

Spooler 11-06-2017 12:04 AM

Those look real nice, even if they are upside down. My hood needs a repaint anyway due to some rock chips and freaking luv bugs. I need to clear bra the whole dang car.

They are mounted from the top. That is part of the reason for my confusion lol. They are inset!

Whjaxn17 11-06-2017 09:43 AM

Did we ever decide if this was right? Best I can tell based on other pictures from their Instagram page, all of the vents to be flipped over (the center piece front to back, the side pieces flipped left to right) to turn the support bar down and the side pieces also need to be swapped. The product looks good, nonetheless. Just curious over orientation.

You are late to the party and yes you are correct on the orientation and placement of the vents!

What the hell is up with the orientation of the vents in the photos? They look like they were mocked up by a opossum :icon14:

Thanks for the support and stating the obvious lol.

I literally did not take time to do anything but pull the vents out of the box snap a few pix in between work and personal activities. The vents are awesome the owner has brain issues as you know!

LMAO....and just for everyone's information I won't be doing the installation because I would probably put them in sideways and backwards lol!

Sideways and backwards, probably not a good selling point :rofl2: Love the vents though.

Kingbaby 11-06-2017 11:20 AM

the side vents are doing what ?

Next question is are you place it after the radiator or on top of the timing cover?

look wise it looks great ! 10/10 would rock

Hopefully the side vents end up over that air gap to the sides of the engine and help reduce pressure and extract hot air from that area.
Dying to see the parts installed. I didn't find any pics on the company's intagram for the Z.

cooltoy 11-06-2017 12:01 PM

These are the first made.

littlejuanito 11-06-2017 12:16 PM

Seeing the price of some of the other vehicle's vents fabricated by this vendor, I'm guessing these would run in the $350+ price range correct.

NickD 11-06-2017 12:22 PM

Those vents looks like the blinds I have on my windows at home.

Is that actually fabricated or photoshop of what it could look like?

cooltoy 11-06-2017 12:50 PM

Ya, I went to Hotrodz house and fabricated them while he was at work. It was a bit of a drive.

What DarkJak said and yes the hood vent leading edge should be just about 13" to 15" from the front the hood which would place it just beyond the radiator. That is if you trust my measurements. I actually took measurements from Fugi hood vents and the placement of the radiator from the front of the hood.
