Default Windshield/wiper cowl seal?

If you look at this diagram:

https://parts.nissanusa.com/nissanIm...0000000430.jpg

I have an issue with 66862. It is the wiper cowl on the passenger side. I was replacing my battery and finally taking my car out of winter storage. I noticed that the seal on the underside of the wiper cowl is damaged; the seal keeps meets the windshield and keeps water from running down passed the cowl. It looks like a white string/rope tbh and its pulled apart and extremely frail. Has anyone replaced it? I am assuming my best bet would be to just purchase the new part however, it is damn expensive when all I need is a piece of string...

Sorry, I didn't take pictures of it. The gasket/string looks a lot like this

Some people have been known to remove those seals to help some heat escape from under the hood.

Leaking water probably helps cool the bay down as well :/
