Default VVIVID Carbon Fiber Wrap

Has any one else worked with the new VVIVID 3d Carbon Fiber Vinyl? Had all the gray on my 2014 Nismo wrapped in it 2 weeks ago and the installer said it was the most difficult stuff he has ever worked with due to thickness. The plus is I actually had a guy arguing with me at a show before he knew it was my car that it was real carbon fiber, the bad it's now pulling up on the hard corners. The installer was afraid this was going to happen do to the difficulty he had getting it to shape to start with and did not charge me for the install mostly because he wanted to try the product for future application.

Now to the question, has any one had further experience with this product and know any secrets to getting it to form better? When I ordered the dimensions on amazon where wrong so I have 5 extra rolls to play around with, just want to get it right because I really love the way it looks.

Ya the thickness of the carbon wrap is tough to work with. I had to re-wrap my mirrors 2-3 times to get it right.

Thanks godspeed.

DK can you elaborate when you call it crap? Did it fade, not hold up, etc, or just hard to work with and shape? The flat surfaces it's holding up fine, it's just the wing and front bumper that aren't wanting to stay down.

I used it on the red accents of the 15+ nismo bumper. The thickness does make it a bitch but it lasts well

I bought a few wraps before that I keep in stock for when im bored. The 3M and avery were very easy to work with I wrapped my roof on the first try no issues and last 3 years. I bought the carbon 4D wrap because it looked more realistic. Its on my fenders for 2 years. It did start to fade but, the reason I think its poor is because A the adhesive is not as good, B the material is thick like others suggested. There are some smaller pieces and I would torch the vinyl and the ones from china(bootleg brand or no name brand) would never perform like the limited color professional brands. Buy a small sheet of both its really cheap and find a curved piece (aka for me was a steering column plastic). The edges and flexibility is limited. If its an easy piece go for it. I do have it on my fenders, one of my successful wraps using it because it was flat. If you have extra you should try it compared to a brand name and see the difference in flexibility.

Have you tried pre-stretching the material before applying it? I did it the last time I rewrapped my mirrors. So far it's holding up the best.

I didn't do it personally. I had it done by a professional who hadn't used the product yet and didn't charge me as a Guinea Pig and was afraid it wouldn't stick once he got started. I'm thinking of trying myself next time around and am looking for guidence to maybe get a better result. Like I said I've got 5 extra rolls so I can get some different shapes things and give it a try.

I've used it plenty of times and loved it. Not carbon vinyl I'll use.
