Default Bike racks!

Was not sure if this belonged in the general disc. Or the exterior topic..

Has anyone had any luck with bike racks? Not looking for something of JDM or looks; but rather use.

Ive read around and only found other Z owners having problems of finding the best rack that will fit a touring spoiler (oem) or that it will scratch or dent the Z.

Ive found ones that required the removal of the front wheel.. But hoping to find something where i wont have to remove and reinstall the wheel every ride.
But it would be the only road to take if thats the case..

It would, of course hold a road bike or a mountain bike w/ brake rotors.. And hoping something that will hold fine going highway speeds as well as easy dismantle and install.

This one has worked fabulously for me.
After the initial installation, it takes less than five minutes to install/uninstall. All you see when uninstalled is the "p tube bracket under the car. Mine is a little lower than original because I got an aftermarket exhaust and had to modify the mount slightly. It hold two bikes.

They also have other products that go into the same mount for other purposes.

Be prepared, you'll hear all kinds of haters because for some reason they think the Z is an art piece that shouldn't scarred by a bike rack. Ignore them.

Which parts are due to scratching? I like to make use of my car.. I take it fishing, ive taken it on dirt roads as well as rocky roads.

Im sure if its some bars that are scratching i can wrap it in some kind of rubber..

The mount itself shouldn't give you any issue with scratching. The straps that connect to the top of the rack go inside the hatch and connect to the two hooks on the right and left sides. These two straps have vinyl sleeves to protect the paint. The straps are basically "come along" type straps. You do have to drill two holes inside (underneath the carpet) to do the initial install.
If you want, I can take some more detailed pictures and post in the next few days.

The only issue that I've had was before I installed the exhaust. The tube underneath the car was so close to the muffler that it actually made the car sound like I had a hole in the exhaust. After the exhaust install, I used a hockey puck as a washer/spacer and the noise is completely gone.

I don't know if you saw the link in my first post, but it shows some pretty good shots.

Thanks for the replies;
So drilling is needed for this rack?
I currently have a custom exhaust set up.. Two pretty big resonators at the axleback

Default Bike racks!

Thanks!
Right now; it looks like this one or.. From what i read, seasuckers. But boy, 300$ for some suction cups really kills the deal!
I guess no more excuses to not take the bike out lol.

Thank you for the options!
I went ahead and fitted a 19 in frame on 29 tires in the back. Fitment was OK. Front wheel needs to be off (good thing these things are designed with a quick release latch!
Upon more research.. Another option I finally bumped into is Seasuckers.300$ for some suction mounts though!

Before I got this rack, I went on vacation and put the bike in the back with my luggage.
Took off the wheels, handlebars, pedals and seat. Would not recommend. It took me two days to get everything adjusted. Of course I wasn't smart enough to mark positions before I took off the bars and seat.

Thats what i first worried.. Thought i had to ditch the bars as well but After some minor adjustments i managed to get it in with the back wheel first so that i had more control when im putting it in and taking it out. Passenger seat adjusted all the way to the front and handle bars will just barely fit with some push. I also wrapped the bar in towels to protect the frame paint and removed the sunshade. All is well! I dont have to worry about a passenger...yet
