Default inside trunk

Today, I placed noico vibration padding in my spare tire area. Have not tested due to rain. I pulled out the 2 Styrofoam tire holders on the side and put the jack behind the seat. Also, in order to store items in the trunk I had to put the spare back in with the Styrofoam block in the center. Why so much junk foam. Any suggestions from others who have worked on the trunk
