Painting strut bar ?

I am thinking about painting the strut bar on top of the engine on my 09 370. Any suggestions or tips of people that has done the same.

I am thinking about painting the strut bar on top of the engine on my 09 370. Any suggestions or tips of people that has done the same.

should be pretty easy. off the top of my head i think galeforce did this. try searching his build thread

Remove it and paint it...

Wet sand with 2500 grit.

clean up the part really good with paint thinner or brake clean.

Paint with color you want.

Wet sand 3000 grit.

clear coat.

wet sand with 3000 grit

Then polish it up with some Merzena FG400

You don't have to do all those steps, but if you want it to look professionally done id suggest doing it this way.
