i had great luck with duplicolor engine enamel paint on the front of the car (no joke).
i used a low-gloss black on a fog lamp bezel on my dd, went through 3-4yrs of hard snow/salt winter and came out with very minimal chips. you can clearcoat over the finish to get u the gloss you want. might even recommend UV clearcoat. i recommend doing it in 2 steps (base coat + clear coat) so that you can add more clear over the black and wetsand/polish it real nice and flat (shiny) after it dries.
