Removing Trunk Components

Hey Guys,

There are a total of five Styrofoam components inside the trunk.
1. circle piece that goes on top of the spare
2. a frame like piece that goes at the very top
3. a solid piece underneath the rear strut tower bar
4. a pretty big piece on the left side that houses all the tools
5. same piece as #4 but on the right side

To remove piece #3, 4, and 5, do you have to remove all of the plastic housings inside the trunk? I was able to remove 1 and 2 but i couldn't wiggle out the rest. It definitely moves around but it seems like i will need to detach several large plastic pieces that looks like a pain in the ***. Please advise. Thanks in advance.

In order to remove the solid foam bar that is under the rear strut bar, you have to remove almost all of the interior in the trunk. I just did the NISMO rear brace installation on our shop 370Z and I was forced to pull it in order to prevent me breaking the foam.

Its not hard at all to remove. The interior is a piece of cake to remove. The center panel towards the rear of the car is the hardest piece to take out. Everything else is held in with pop clips. If you have any questions about pulling the interior, let me know. I can send you a few pics of how to pull the interior out.

yep, stereo guys (including me) had to remove the side pieces in order to get the rear camera and fog lamp installed.

as dustin mentioned, it's not hard to do. just need to pull it away from the panels
with care.

might want to look at the service manual that's downloadable at this site.

one of the interior chapters show where all the clips are.

can you please email them to me? the clip seems like it has a handle that u can pull out but it doesnt like to come out too easily. I've tried pulling on it with a good amount of force too. Thanksss!

The cargo net hook has a slit where you need to pop it up using a screw driver. Unless you do that it won't come off...well, it will if you pull hard enough to break it.

Search for the service manual on the forums.

What rear camera are you using? I know there is a OE Rearward facing camera from Japan that was an option on the JDM Zs. I have been looking into how this kit interfaces with the US Touring package equiped Zs.
