If it was a manufacturing defect, or an installation issue. and the ball is in the shops court. The sooner they send the part the sooner we can take care of this. I was like

What a hassle!

Seriously, take the sucker off, send it back to Stillen and buy the GTM one for $380.00. I'm more than glad to send you the install pictures and instructions on how to do it as after you get it figured out, there is nothing to it. Super happy with mine. If you would like, I'll give you my personal phone number if you need help but sincerely doubt you would need any after seeing the simple instructions.

Say what you want, Stillen is on my poop list big time. There is no excuse for using customers as test dummies not working out the kinks before offering an item for sale. They tried to blame me on the install of the exhaust system which may have turned out be a faulty header quality control. Again, not fitting a test car before they sell them. No excuse.........period. There is an obvious trend that has been repeated on several products.

Fool me once.....shame on you. Fool me twice........shame on me. Ain't gonna happen again.

Am I missing something? Why is everybody so upset about the Stillen Race kit?

The core is a Setrab. The plate is a Perma Cool. The only proprietary part of the kit is the bracket. Are you upset about the bracket?

What is it you believe Stillen did wrong?

Now a question for you. Are you having any of these issues with your race cooler and Mocal thermo plate?

I hear a whining sound but it really does not concern me. In fact, I was relieved to discover that it was not my differential.

On the street I used to regularly see temps of 220 when cruising and 240+ when driving hard. Now, I cruise locked to 180 and there is no way to get it over 210.

I understand that when you start modifying your car there will be unintended consequences. For example, the ambient temperature gauge no longer works because of the added heat of the cooler. I can live with that.

Huh? Not sure where that is coming from, but mine works just fine......

If yours doesn't you might want to re-check your install..

When you responded to my previous thread "On the water temp gauge, yeah that is worthless. After 132-134 degrees there is no change until 212+" were you talking about the water temp or outside temp?

And if it is you water temp, you might want to re-check your install.

I was responding to your first comment. My ambient air temp sensor works just fine. And on the second, if you will plug in a Scangauge or equivalent that will read actual water temps you'll see that the LED gauge is virtualy worthless except at extremes. This has nothing to do with an oil cooler. They all work this way. ... 2 different sensors discussed here...Maybe you meant something else..??
