I suppose you could burn some oil during break in. But if you are going through 1 qt per 1000 miles, I think that is crazily excessive. I've only had my 370 a few days, but I will keep an eye on the oil level. My 05 350 has never lost any oil and still doesn't at 48k miles.
The only vehicle I've ever owned that went through that kind of oil had a leak in the rear main seal. A new car that burns that kind of oil is a lemon and there's no way I would keep it. |
