I understand what your saying. Like you said, it allows for better performance. Off the line, it accelerates quicker because of the loss of weight off the crank. That would negate in any "feel" of lose of torque right there in my opinion. Same thing goes for a light weight flywheel too. But everyone benefits from shaving weight and seeing a positive increase in revs, mpg increase, and drive ability
