Zat_Zuma 07-21-2009 09:02 AM

I look forward to following the details of the build and the results of the tests

PM myself or Sharif for pricing on what you are looking for.

Quick question... what are you doing for seats? full halo? building custom seat rails/brackets, or hoping to source from somewhere? thanks

We will be going with a lightweight racing seat with all of the necessary safety equipment. We'll have more detailed information once we have planned everything out in detail.

Quite some time ;)

Well, we are off to a great start. Turns out we have a nice little ringer on our hands. The other 370's and G37's I have done all baselined around 250whp. Ours turned the rollers to 276whp. :) For those of you not familiar with our Dyno Dynamics Dyno, it tends to read fairly low, compared to the Dyno Jet or Dyno Pak machines.

Nice Sharif! I'm psyched to see how this build comes along! :)

Why did you guys stop short of redline on the dyno? Nice results though!

Alright, we have updates! Our first stage of this project was to remove the basic interior out of the car. This included carpet, seats, pillar covers, etc etc. We were quite pleased with the amount of weight we were able to remove from the car with very little effort. We were able to remove over 300 pounds of just interior pieces. Our current weight is 3009 which is down from 3323, a 314 pound difference!

We are about to start moving forward with our second stage of this project which will include more in depth weight reduction. This is where it starts getting a little bit harder to get significant weight off. We will be removing sound deadening, AC, door crash beams, etc. Keep in mind the car is still bone stock, so we havn't even installed new exhaust, suspension, and other aftermarket parts which will drop a nice bit of weight out of the car. Stay tuned to our progress! Here are a few more pictures ;)

Excellent thread, subscribing for all the data, and to drool over things I can't do to my street car but wish I could :)

I wasn't on site to supervise the dyno. They ran it to redline, but the RPM signal was a bit off, so that's the max power we saw from 4 runs total.

Oooh baby! This is going to be an awesome thread!

shabarivas 07-21-2009 11:06 AM

Wanna sell me that middle pannel (for the cubby under the guages?) and a couple other things? Looking for the trim pieces in the center console / door handles (inside and out)... ket me know :) - Also - if you are not going to need the headlights :p

LiquidZ 07-21-2009 11:09 AM

You guys aren't joking around, that's for sure.

Exactly my thoughts.

Maybe in a few years though :)

travisjb 07-21-2009 11:37 AM

if i did the math right, you guys are now at 57.6% weight to front... hopefully you find some ways to shift more weight towards the rear and continue to lighten the front
