Forged Performance: Project 370Z Race Car Build!!

Forged Performance is pleased to announce or latest motorsports project car: A brand new Nissan 370Z with just a touch over 100 miles on the odometer. We are looking forward to developing the Forged Performance 370Z to compete in the Unlimited RWD Class of Redline Time Attack, and Regional NASA Pro Racing, and Time Trials.

As we've done with our 350Z, and current GT-R program, motorsports development is the ultimate proving ground. Much of what we learn, is immediately transferrable to our street based project cars as well and one of the reasons that we have a long history or reliability and consistency with our daily driver builds. So hang on, and we'll be updating the thread as the build continues....it's going to get really interesting.

By the way, everything OEM removed from the car is for sale...just ask. :)

Tomorrow, the car goes on the dyno for a quick baseline, and then the strip down continues, along with a preliminary scaling. We are sitting right now at just over 3300lbs with a full tank of fuel.

We'll have the SCCA/NASA approved cage, and much of the safety gear in by end of next week. :)

I took a few pictures today to get us started, and well update as we go. :happydance:

They are in that pile of OEM parts I posted above. :eekdance:
Interested?

The glass is for sale too...it's all coming out. :)

I'm interested in some of the OEM interior panels. How would I go about obtaining them from you guys? Let me know!

eddieconfetti 07-20-2009 11:37 PM

how much for the wheels?

Brazilbro 07-20-2009 11:37 PM

for unlimited class you're going to need some BoOooOst!!.. whatcha got up your sleaves?

I would suggest making a list of stock parts for sale to make it more manageable to keep track. I think you would be successful in offering anything you end up taking off your z. I may be interested in some of the trunk trimmings.

Wow, congrats!! This is going to be a great project to follow! Really looking forward to watching this progress. Requests:
  • post a detailed project list once you get that figured out
  • keep a careful log of the weight for oem parts you pull
  • lots of pictures! :) especially any chassis welding/stiffening, custom fab, and cage design

With you or your customer running unlimited, me in street or modified, and mike at ddm in stock or street, we risk missing each other in future competition... would like to get all three on the track at once somewhere down the road !

Quick question... what are you doing for seats? full halo? building custom seat rails/brackets, or hoping to source from somewhere? thanks
