Believe me the black wheels on PW look killer in person, just can't be captured in a photograph.

+1...one of the best combos.

This is a race car, so the tires and wheels are usually pretty filthy with brake dust, rubber, and misc crap. :)

Needs a rear diffuser!

Nitex 08-19-2010 11:35 AM

Shariff, i noticed you said your running 19x10 +30 something upfront and 19x11 in the rear. Ive ordered my forgestars around a month ago in a 19x9 +20something and 19x11 rear. Im curious how easy it was for you to fit the 19x10 upfront. Is this the better setup for a mix of track/daily? 2 inch stagger difference makes me wonder, should i make a quick change to my order for 19x10s for the front?

edit* i will be installing my V3's and lowering about an inch all around.

I have the Forgestar 18x10 up front, 18x11 rear, lowered with camber kit. Fitment was just fine, plenty of clearance to the lip with my 3.0 degrees of camber and I imagine fairly flush looking but still no rub if you backed it down to between 1.0 and 1.5. I had a slight clearance issue at full lock when I installed my BC ER coilovers, but this was the wheel hitting the external reservoir and I was able to rotate the placement of the reservoir slightly to prevent that.

B1nks 08-19-2010 02:01 PM

I would like to know what FP has done to combat Fuel Starvation and the VDC issue and the brake Icing that everyone talks about. I also can't read through this whole post to find all this haha. I mean I can I just don't want to ! Thanks and awesome car !

Hrrmm so with some negitive camber and around 1inch drop or so, 19x10 upfront should have minimal rub with a 265 35 or so?

Edit* with a +30 something offset. Any issues with running the 19x9 F 19x11 R? I would think this could possibly create some unwanted understeer? Maybe i should create a thread in the wheel/tire section.. Sorry for the jack!

Start a thread, this could go on for a while :)

There is tons of room up front for a larger wheel. I would strongly recommend using a 9.5 or 10 front. Otherwise its likely you will be fighting understeer on track.

Jay and Kerry installed a fuel cell pump and reg. That was the solution.

For a street car, a surge tank or keeping the tank at least half full are the solutions.

Thanks Sharif! That was my assumption.

You're joking right?

I mean an actual diffuser to add downforce... they are relatively easy to fab.. I'm surprised there isnt one on the car already...

We've been updating bit, but the discussion moved over the Greddy TT thread. The original plan for this car was to keep in NA, but Jay decided to go TT down the road, after the car was delivered to him. So now it's TT, and making 500whp+ track use. So far about 30 hours on the stock engine and no issues whatsoever. Jay also installed some pretty extensive cooling gear to keep the engine happy. It's amazing how much heat these engines produce, particularly when you add forced induction to the mix.

Glad you enjoyed the article!

FuszNissan 10-05-2010 11:01 AM

Read the magazine article, and still can't believe the GTR is beating this thing weighting in at what 2200lbs or something like that.

Yeah, the GT-R is an amazing track car, and still very far ahead of just about any production car out there when it comes to track capabilities.

The GT-R comes off the corners so much sooner, faster, and harder than the 370Z TT can, and the gearbox on the car is worth a second per lap.

The level of cooling modifications that were installed on the car, would not be suitable for a street car application. Street people want to keep their AC and don't want to build custom mounts and such. This level of cooling modifications would require we have the car in house for installation, especially if we need to retain the AC. We can thank Nissan Japan for welding the AC condenser to the radiator. :)

I have no problem with the fab. I can do all that my self. and as for AC I couldn't care less. I want to get that out asap anyway. I'm planning on using the car strictly as track car anyway, so it wont really matter. Up here in Ottawa Canada there aren't a lot of tuning/Fab shops around, so pretty much everything on the car has been done by me.

Do you have a parts list?

Thread revivial: What was the final weight?

Sharif@Forged 12-14-2010 10:22 AM

2989 loaded with cage, fire suppression, and ALL safety gear 14qts of oil, 4 gallons of water and 5 gallons of fuel. Still has the front and rear glass as well.

Probably still a lot of nice racecar bits still on there that the salvage guy doesn't even know the value of. Someone should part that thing out, e.g. suspension, cage, seats, etc...

Here ya go.

Located right down your street!

Copart

ChrisSlicks 11-26-2012 01:31 PM

Looks completely repairable to me, especially for track car duty. New front right suspension, a couple of front frame rail extensions, some speed tape to hold the body together and good to go!

wstar 11-26-2012 03:25 PM

Oh jeez, that is right here in Houston. Auction's tomorrow at noon. Hmmmmmmm
