Default Check Engine Light.....?

Alright... have the car for less than 3 weeks and I get a check engine light this morning. So yeah... I am ready to skin a dealer. However the car ran perfectly, no loss in it's powerband and the fuel economy haven't diminished.

Now being mechanically inclined, currently own a fleet of Nissans (Altima and Armada, respectively), and maintained a 86 Nissan Maxima until 2003, I have some knowledge on how these bulletproof engines can get pretty temperamental when it comes to intake, exhaust, and the sensors that manage them. So I am thinking that the culprit has to be the oxygen sensor at the exhaust manifold... maybe near the catalytic converter, for the car has an aftermarket exhaust installed.

However, since this is my first sports car, I could be wrong. So I am checking to see if anyone here had caught a check engine light after running an aftermarket exhaust system after a while of running an aftermarket exhaust with drop in performance filters.

I have had intakes and CBE for a while and never had a CEL come on. I also had test pipes put on and that through a CEL for the post cat O2's but I was uprev tuned the same day and had them deleted so the CEL went out and haven't had one since. I switched from test pipes to HFC's still no issues. So I don't think that would be your cause.

Why not go to an Auto Zone or Oreillys so they can look up the code for you? I believe the Oreillys off of Transmountain doesn't do it anymore, but I'm sure the ones on Montana Ave do.

What mods does your car have?

Just like every other thread like this, for us to help you you need to know what the CEL code is. Without knowing this we can't really do anything for you.

To be honest, I can't tell you. I know it has K&N box filters HPS intake hoses, but the exhaust is a mystery. I wanted to get it up on the lift at the autocrafts shop in the hope of catching its maker, but haven't got the chance.

I should have went there first... but since the car is three weeks new to me, I opted for the dealership... that won't happen again. I'll head over to Autozone on Dyer right now.

Sorry it took so long... ran my mouth.

Trouble Code is P0106, Manifold absolute pressure (MAP) circuit range/performance.

No probable causes, no potential fixes available (yeah right).

Any takers?

That thread is really more about that sensor and its reaction to boost, which really isn't your problem. Maybe you've just got a sensor going bad.
