Has anyone been thru this issue. Am now on my second gas cap from the dealership they have replaced gas cap twice and the light will come back on after a few days. The cap never seems like it fits right will go to open it and
its already backed off a turn. just wondering if anyone else has been thru this.

Going through it. A friend of mine has a code reader, so I just re-tighten the cap, throw on the code reader to make sure it's not anything significant, and then turn the light off through the reader.

Sounds like you're dealer has failed to diagnose the real problem. They're Taking the lazy way out and throwing caps at it when their may be real problem with the car in the fill tube or tank venting. Take it back and have them fix it..

I had this problem, the dealer reset, then it came back. Upon closer inspection of the gas cap, I surmised that the o-ring was susceptible to uneven flexing if torqued too hard (the usually attempted remedy). I now simply put the cap in the hole, properly line it up, then use thumb and forefinger to lightly tighten until ONE click (no posted requirement to go to three clicks like on most other applications). Problem has not recurred in over a year. Most other gas caps have flat gaskets but ours is big and round. Try it, it's a free fix!

Might be, might not! But I think is only one click like you stated.

Do you tend to fill up even after the filler clicks off? If so, you may have killed the vent valve...
