Question Power steering fluid?

I did a search but couldn't find anything about what power steering fluid would work the best. I installed my oil cooler not too long ago but used what they had a pep boys. What high performance power steering fluids are out there? Thanks in advance...

To be more specific I used Lucas power steering fluid. Not really familiar with which ones are better to go with.

DEXRON™ VI type ATF or Canada NISSAN Automatic Transmission Fluid may also be used

Huh? You can use automatic tranny fluid for power steering applications?

Yeah it's pretty common. ATF and Power Steering Fluid are basically the same stuff, same generally desirable properties. In our car's case, in the Service Manual they only recommend a special Nissan ATF for the auto transmission itself, but they recommend either Nissan's own brand of power steering fluid, or as an alternative any "Dexron VI" -compatible ATF (which probably means Nissan's fluid is roughly equivalent to that anyways).

I'm really not up on whether there are better aftermarket alternatives. I just used whatever random Dexron VI ATF they had at the auto parts store.
