yeah there really is no comparing the vlsd to real diff. on a side not my 2000 xterra which cost $19k when new has a baller factory clutch lsd just like every other xterra even the base models. guess they must be considered a higher performance vehicle

Edit: also the quaife for the base model diff is the cheapest too, even if you dont get the lsd right away don't forget to grab some poly bushings while you have the pumpkin out anyway.

Yeah i just went with the energy suspension bushings they are stiffer. Most of the mounts on my car are going to be poly anyway so i says bring on the noise.

This item is listed as a LSD. I thought that would come from a Sport model not the base

Sorry I am confused can you clarify?

Got it now.. I could not see-read the "NON" part only saw the LSD

That being said if I find a used one just make sure it says LSD correct?

Thanks again

yep or sport model or nismo or sprt+touring, or just get a base model as the quaife for the base diff is $200 cheaper than the one for the lsd rear end.

I was talking to the whiteline sales reps at FD round 7 and they said that they are having issues with keeping stock on this bushing and that a 370 bushing would be coming out in next couple moths. He was sales tho so take that with a grain of salt.

Hi guys, will I still need shims if I get the Quaife + 370Z Factory Manual Diff (3:69) for my 7AT?

I would really love to go 4:08 but in Singapore, the nissan dealership is poorly stocked and ordering of shims would mean 2 weeks. I will end up paying twice the labour because the workshop will first have to remove the parts from my car, measure the shim thickness, put everything back and let me drive off first. Then again when the shims arrive.

Unless I try to make a guess and order a few pieces of shims with various thickness? Any advise please?

you will need a couple shims for the side to side unless you get lucky, but you shouldn't have to move the pinion so you can leave the crush spacer and seals and front bearings and shims alone. You will also want to replace the ring gear carrier bearings any time you change the center section out. so you need the ring gear carrier bearings, and maybe shims any time you install a new lsd into a pumpkin.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. I also seen some mention about an install kit for the gears, may I know where I can find this kit?

So to summarize, if I want to go 4:08 on my 7AT + Quaife I will need:

1) Ring Gear Bearing (Could you kindly advise part numbers?)

2) 4:08 Gears From Z1Motorsports

3) Install Kit (Kindly advise where I can get this kit from)

4) Pumpkin (Can I use my existing stock pumpkin??)

5) Shims

Is that all?

Thanks!

this is part of an email i got from whiteline a few weeks ago:

"At this stage we have a huge list of new development but we hope to release more parts for the 370z later this year"

so we're low priority it seems lol

Hi,

Did you end up getting the Quaife for manual or auto or vlsd? Mine is the 7AT sports with vlsd too but don't know which Quaife to get for the 4:08 install.

If you want a quaife and 4.08 then u need a manual pumpkin, and a manual quaife for the type of manual pumpkin you buy. Then get the gearset from z1 and select the install kit option at the bottom.
