I & many others had/have that problem. I couldn't drag race for months. Went to an understanding dealer who got me a brand new trans. for free through the Niss. warranty.

lock out meaning you can't get into it at all?

has your car been warmed up?
have you been shifting aggressively?
mileage?
long shot but trans. fluid change?

or just keep going and skip 2nd and go straight to 3rd lol

I think he meant warmed up like does it happen when you first start your car or does it happen after you've been driving for a while? Does it happen on downshifting or shifting up?

Not normal. Get the tech to reproduce it and have the transmission replaced. Mine happened in 5th, and it was a brand new transmission. My tech freaked out when he tried to downshift into 5th while exiting the freeway.

I had issues with an aftermarket clutch in which it kept riding on the flywheel even when it was disengaged. It caused lots of issues in every gear, and it also caused the car to crawl forward in the gear even when the clutch was fully disengaged. A new disc fixed it.

Once I got my Competition Clutch brand Twin Disk, I started having issues on high RPM shifts into 2nd WITHOUT SRM active. Could it be the tranny.....prolly not. Could it be the twin disk........more likely, but I won't know until I do another shakedown after my UPREV visit in the next 10 days.

Timeout. If it's only happening in the first 20 isn't that just the transmission oil warming up? Have you ever changed your transmission oil? Used a better product like Redlines instead of OEM?

edit: DIY: Transmission Oil Change

Lot of discussion in that thread regarding transmission oil changes and problems with OEM oil heating up.

Exactly that. Let the oil warm up... it takes a while.
