I just recently did mine myself. I don't think it's ever been checked (im the second owner) and I'm not even sure how to check but my car has 36,xxx miles and I already had the car on stands installing exhaust so I just grabbed some tranny oil and said what the hell. Drained it into a pan then used a "homemade siphon pump" type of deal, it looked like a caulk gun with a 12" hose on one end and a pump on the other to pump the oil. The drain is underneath the assembly and the "filler hole" (forget what you call it) is on the side of it, and I pumped oil in it till it started to seep from the filler hole... And that's that!

AT or MT? What do you want to "check" exactly? That you're oil is still in there?

Yea, drain plug is on the bottom, and filler hole is on the passenger side about middle of the case and looks identical to the drain plug. 10mm hex to remove both the drain and filler plugs.

You simply fill till it comes out of the filler hole about 3 quarts of API GL-4 or better 75w-90. I personally like Mobil 1 75w-90 but if you have a personal preference then feel free to use that oil. I agree a cheap orange pump is the best way to do it if you do not have specific tools for this kind of thing.

Hope that helps

Forget about it.

It won't even be due for a flush until 100,000KM

When should a tracked 370 have its tranny oil changed? I am thinking now.

I thought the AT couldn't be changed and it had to be taken to the dealership...or is that the differential that I'm thinking of...

The tranny doesn't seem to burn up the oil like the rear-end does, so I would go with 15K or every 2 years, 1 year if you do a lot of events.

The manual says it is not end-user serviceable, which is true to a point. It can be done at home but is apparently a pain to get the level correct depending on what the torque converter is doing. There is no drain plug either.
