Default My latest Engine Oil Analysis

I just thought I'd share these results so people would have something to compare against.

This is my 2nd oil changing and analysis. The first oil change was at the end of November about 10months from date of mfg. I followed AK's DIY pretty much to the letter.

I used Red Line 5W30, K&N Filter (for some reason the filters a bit bigger this year), magnetic drain bolt and filter mag. I noticed the magnetic Drain bolt had a light grayish like paste is the best I can describe it on the magnetic portion. I assume the filter magnet caught more of the same. I don't feel these magnets are too effective but what they hell they were a total of $70 so in the grand scheme of things it doesn't make much of a difference.

I did 3k miles in the 9 months since the last oil change and added about 1/2 a quart at 2.2k miles. Some consumption though nothing of worry. The engine seems to have alot of the new engine metals still in it but the vales are going down. Red Line also seems to have a lot more additives in it then the Nissan brand (Calcium, Phosphorus, and zinc). Also seems to held it's viscosity better too.

The only continual problem I have is getting underneath the car I really have to make/buy some extensions to the Rhino Ramps I have.
