Here in AZ, during normal commuting/city driving, with the 2012 factory oil cooler, I ran about 230-235 normally. (Ambient air temp about 108-113).

With the Z1 Motorsports 34 row cooler, same driving conditions and elimination of the factory cooler, I am seeing 195-205 normally. Enough of a reduction to greatly mitigate the ECU driven power loss due to heat...

I agree with what your saying but almost every every instance of engine failure do to oil consumption is because the person never checks their oil.

Engine failure due to oil consumption is due to oil consumption.

No its not. I understand that if it was not for the consumption issue your engine would not use the excessive amount of oil, but if you check your oil on a normal basis you will (A) Catch the problem early and (B) avoided complete engine failure. Mazda RX8's are known to use oil and its considered normal. So if you do not check your oil often and your motor fails its your own fault.

Engine failure avoidance can be attributed to checking oil on a regular basis.

Everyone happy now?

Haha, indeed.

My only point is that "regular" oil checking denotes a car that isn't consuming close to two quarts of oil per thousand miles, like my car now.

I wouldn't say that going two thousand miles without checking the oil is "irregular". Then again, I average about 2k miles/month, so the miles tend to fly by.
