on my drive home from the dealer ship with only 20 miles on the OD i was in 5th (manual tranny) and upon going into 6th i bumped the gate

SRM jumped the rpms to almost 6.5k rpm!!! i know the feeling, but your fine. consider it you letting the engine know whats coming...
