Default What is the best short throw shifter?

I wanted to purchase a short throw shifter for my car. I have the base model so I did not get the syncro rev match. Therefore, I should not have the problems others have reported with a short shifter. I am having trouble deciding on a brand though. I found two brands, twm and B&m. However, the twm brand has so many options without pictures that I am not sure what to chose from. Please help me decide

im using the PWJDM knob, but any stubby (short) knob that weighs more than 400g is preferred.
check out TWM's. for those you will need to buy your collar that fits under the knob or get new boots.

dont do it. running the risk of increased synchro wear with already fragile synchros in our cars is no good

btw, most short shifters dont help anything because the increased shift effort/time it takes to locate gear negates out the shorter throw

That is completely false.
I have a short throw and have zero issues getting in/out of gear quickly. All a short throw on this car really does is remove any rubber/soft spot on the shifter and replaces it with firmer material. This gives a more precious feeling of shifting in/out of gear and I know exactly if I am in gear or not.

I just changed out my shift knob with a TWM shift knob, not a short-shift kit.

Pulled off the existing knob, put the provided washer and thread to the existing stick shift post. And then just screwed on the TWM shift knob WITHOUT any spacers in it.

It sits much lower than the OEM. Quite pleased with it.

Default Short shifter still considered unnecessary?

I was considering buying a short shifter for my z. I remember reading in the past that people thought it messed up the syncro. However, I do not have syncro since I have the base model. I have a JDM weighted shift knob (round) which I love but have always wondered what it would be like to put a short shifter on there. DO most of you still find it unnecessary to put a short shifter on a 370z?
