Default Buying a Z - Tranny Questions

I'm looking at a really low mile 2011 (4700 miles) black/black sport/nav.

I test drove it on regular streets and noticed the clutch is really strange. Half way down it its somewhat stiff, after that its really soft and goes down to the floor really easily. Is this normal? I've read some threads about it being "touchy" but not sure if that's what it means...

Also, going into the gears it seems to be "notchy." No grinding, just a very noticeable feeling of the linkages moving.

I'm used to driving Honda manual transmission, and while I understand the Z isn't as smooth, I'm wondering if this is all normal?

It's normal. Takes some getting used to. Definitely not the most graceful trans/clutch combo around.

Did some more searching and found the linkage feeling is normal. And yea, I felt a little strange with this clutch, but I guess you just get used to it.

Time for an extended test drive and then work those numbers!

I think transvestites have as much right to buy a Z, as any one else.

Oh wait........... different kind of tranny.

Search the forum for:
- clutch helper spring (mod to change the stock spring with a softer one)
- RJM clutch (mod to change the pedal with an aftermarket one)

Good luck

I drove a 13 manual and it was surprisingly better than past 370z manuals but...
