Default Shifter Rattle After CBE & HFC install

Guys

I have searched the various threads on here, but without luck at finding a resolution to my problem. Since I had my Invidia Gemini CBE and Berk HFC's installed, I have a bat rattle resonating through the shifter when I am travelling at around 60kmph (40mph). It is definitely the exhaust or cats causing this, as there was never a problem beforehand, but I was wondering whether anyone on here has had a similar drama, so can therefore offer me a resolution to fix this?

Cheers

It is the cats. Did you take off the OEM brace that the cats hold on to? Do your aftermarket cats have mounting brackets on them? My ART Pipes without the brace made the shift knob rattle like crazy at 1800RPM (40MPH in 5th gear), so I had my shop custom fabricate brackets for the ART Pipes so I can use the OEM brace again.

Does it remove the rattling?

It most certainly does. Otherwise, I wouldn't have brought it up.

Well that idea has been stumped, as the OEM brace was re-installed onto the Berks when everything was fitted, so I cannot go down that route. Any other ideas out there that may assist?

Well that's weird.

Can you record a video of the rattle by any chance? Does it make a very obvious rattling noise? Does it do it at a certain RPM and certain gear? Mine rattled really hard and made like a plastic slapping noise in 5th.

+1 to you, i really didnt think it was the ART pipes causing my rattle but now i know. it sounds like there is a washer or something loose in it that causes the rattle right in the RPM you are saying!

Hmmm...sounds like you have a metallic rattle from the ART Pipe as opposed to the shift knob rattle?

Unless I'm misunderstanding and you're saying your shift knob rattle sounds almost like a loose washer?

Hehe, thanks for the rep points for the shift knob rattle post. Not sure who it was, but I'm glad it fixed your problem!
