Default Problem with rain and injen :(

First of I have to thank AK all the members and supporters of the370z.com. So I was driving in rain yesterday and I have injen intakes. I hit no puddles and car was running good. I parked the car and about 5 hrs later I went to move it in my garage. Car would shut off and my vdc lights came on as well as service engine soon. After about a minute I tried taking the car around the block and it would not go past 2500 rpms and when I changed gears it would go in hard. I left the car where it was over night and in the morning I take it
For a spin and everything seems fine except the service engine light is still on(the service engine light came on when I installed the cai and went away after 3 days) so Mayb the light will go away again?. I just wanted to share my story and I will update if anything changes(hopefully for the good). I again wanna thank the370z for the help it gave me when I needed it and I will def. Support it and become a member by the end of the week. Special thanks to Arnold k and chuckd for picking up Thair phone at 12am to help me out.

i think it has to do with the light that went on when you installed them first, not the rain yesterday. i know nissan's ecu will limit the revs to 2500 if the intakes move out of place or are not making good contact... check the MAF sensors, make sure they are installed properly and are getting good readings.

geo, i drove with these through spring when we had rain almost daily, and never had an issue... especially since u didnt hit any puddles, i dont see how it could be from water.

geosZ, there's a lot of material on this and possible solutions. Give the advanced search a try.

I also have the Injens, bought from another member here, and neither he nor I have experienced this.

Some say it has to do with proper installation, and some say it has to do with parking somewhere that the nose of the car is higher than the rear.

Either way, there are workarounds. Search the tech sections.

I think it's a vacuum leak somewhere. I'd say to reinstall the intakes, reset ECU and see if that does it.

op- was the MAF sensor wet? was the filter wet?

those 2 areas i would check first.

i personally use the HPS tubes and K&N drop-ins. no issue driving through storms where i could not see very well over 30mph and roads were like rivers.

I would say there is definitely a leak somewhere. If the injen intakes sucked up a significant amount of water your engine would probably seize and likely fail to start altogether.

Get your DTCs read. Possible related DTCs below.

DTC P0102/P0103/P010C/P010D - Mass air flow sensor circuit - Engine speed will not rise more than 2,400 rpm due to the fuel cut.

P0102/C - MAF bank 1/2 circuit low input - An excessively low voltage from the sensor is sent to ECM.
P0103/D - MAF bank 1/2 circuit high input - An excessively high voltage from the sensor is sent to ECM.

Possible cause:
• Harness or connectors (The sensor circuit is open or shorted.)
• Intake air leaks
• Mass air flow sensor damaged
