I have been running with NO spring and really got dialed in with the clutch. Im concerned that if I put nicks spring in Im gonna have to refigure out how to drive this thing again.
Has anyone just left the spring out? is there any obvious reason not to leave it out.

MD

There is a picture of the assembly on the first page of the thread but it isn't needed... I pulled the C clip and pin (pedal fully depressed) in a suit right after work and it was 5 min max. Didn't need to shave anything and had no problem with assembly.

Unlike everyone else I don't think the feel is DRASTICALLY different however it gives me just enough that I can acurately feel the engagement. This is most important in the lower gears where the torque curve can really make you look foolish with a passenger in the car.

Like others have said, best mod for the money.

This was addressed at the beginning of the thread.

Installed mine today, def a pita. Took about 20-30 min, I only removed the bottom pin set. It's a cool mod, shifting feels better, not as "overboosted" as before.

Is there interest in another group buy for replacement springs? I missed out on the first one but found a spring supplier that has suitable softer springs that will work. The pricing is much better with higher quantity but I don't want to get stuck with a bunch of these.

nevermind. I found a single at Fastenal (p/n 0166722) that should do the trick

UPDATE (08/11/11): This Fastenal spring doesn't fit correctly so don't buy it for this....

Good find. Let us know if it fits and works correctly.

Installed the new spring today. Certainly is an improvement on the action of the clutch pedal.

Easy removal of the lower pin. Used a pair of vice-grips on the head of the pin to ease it out, prevented the pin from falling behind the kick panel. Used the vice-grips to re-install pin, again no issues.
