What is that oil sandwitch plate adapter??

Is it so necessary as mentioned there??

Whether you go thermostatic-controlled or not, you need to have the sandwich plate because that is where the lines that go to and from the cooler connect to the engine oil system.

There is a DYI for an oil cooler on here as well. I did that and saved about $100 for the same kit. That z1 and the others sell.

My oil has never gone above 210 in 99 degree weather.

Mocol thermostatic cooler with -10 fittings 20mm
25 row Setrab oil cooler
10' of -10 braded hose and 90 degree fittings -10
