Popcorn sound

HI ALL! I've noticed that when the clutch is disengaged (clutch pedal in) that it makes a weird popping noise like popcorn. It doesn't seem to have a patterned sound.

Default Popcorn sound

HI ALL!

I've noticed that when the clutch is disengaged (clutch pedal in) that it makes a weird popping noise like popcorn. It doesn't seem to have a patterned sound.

There are no other problems otherwise. The car shifts fine with the exception of when I'm shifting under heavy power it seems jerky but I think thats just me learning to drive the car better.

THANKS!

It's a normal characteristic of the transmission. Nothing to worry about.

How do you know? Not trying to be smart, just curious.

Off topic but how does that 5.0 compare to the Z?

Because almost all of us with the manual transmission have that same exact noise and no ill effects seem to occur with the operation of the transmission as a result.
