I will try to put some info in this tread since somebody accidently searching may find it. The ester oils like Red Line and Amsoil are not like Mobil 1

The ester oils like Red Line and Amsoil are not like Mobil 1 and should be changed at 3K. they are not "long lived" oil that can take the claimed 15K miles that some oils advertise.
