Some dude claimed "The new ones 13+ don't have that issue". I posted a question re what did Nissan do for 2013+ to fix the issue. Expecting to hear nothing but crickets on that.

When I spoke to my tech after getting my CSC replaced (preventative, not failure) and he showed me the removed one, I asked him how many failures have come in. He said the same thing, that Nissan changed and upgraded the CSC on the newer ones, and has not seen a 12+ come in for CSC failure yet. I asked him how can they upgrade a piece of plastic and he could not answer..... Saying they upgraded the STILL plastic CSC is like saying the auto trans fluid is lifetime fill. Total BS......

Hopefully that is a true statement, I bought mine brand new in May '14. Car has around 7000 miles, no launching or drag racing, just some autocross. Just checked the fluid reservoir it's still at max. Does anyone know for sure if this issue impacts 2013+?

Thank you,

Matt

Guys, I just wanted to say that my dealer took care of me. I know this doesn't help you out but ever since I got on the Nissan USA Facebook page, the consumer affairs people handled the rest. They asked me to go to the dealer and have it diagnosed. I did. They replaced the clutch fluid with GT-R spec dot 4 fluid. It made things worse. My clutch pedal didn't return at all. They called me with this news and that they were taking care of it as a "good will" gesture. I was surprised and elated to hear the good news. After about 3 days of driving a rental car (Versa), they finished and I'm back in my ride with a big smile on my face. The car feels better than it has ever felt. The pedal seems stiffer than before but nothing too bad. I like the resistance now. All in all, not a bad experience. I paid $200 for a diagnostic, and even that is being reimbursed by consumer affairs.

They put GT-R clutch oil along with a new master and slave cylinder. I know it's another OEM CSC but I don't really care since it's covered for another year under warranty and my dealer doesn't install aftermarket parts.

Good luck everyone.

You are extremely lucky. Dealers DO NOT do this and ARE NOT this nice.

Same part and same issue with 13s 14s 15s and the current 16 model. They all have this problem.

Still waiting for the guy on reddit chime in. He had a 2016 that went out just a few days after the car left the dealer's lot, <500 miles. Although, I'm think the dealer will take care of him. Don't see any reason why they wouldn't. But you never know for sure, it's Nissan we're talking about after all.
