Well, I want to update everyone. I got my car back from the dealership Thursday. They had it for a week replacing the CSC. They also replaced the line and added GTR fluid. The clutch pedal isn't sticking to the floor and the engagement point seems a little higher. Only time will tell how long this fix will last.

Could be a thousand miles, could be a hundred thousand. Mine went out at 1200 miles on the odometer and the replacement was still going strong when I pulled it at 43k for the turbo install.

They didn't replace the master? If not, you'll be back to see them again.

A week after getting the entire clutch assembly replaced my Z feels great, but there's a handful of new sounds. I was giving it a week for the new parts to "settle in," and some of the sounds have lessened/gone away, but I'll go back to the shop and ask them about the remaining noises. Ugh.

Hey Joe, it was nice meeting you, thanks for showing me and my dog Nismo around the shop and showing me how all these great parts work together. Thanks so much man.

I had asked the service manager to change out the CSC, MC, and the line when I first dropped the car off. They did the fluid change out first; that didn't work. Then they replaced the CSC and line but not the MC. I'll have to see how long it last.

Now, I'm hearing some unusual noise mainly when transitioning from reverse to 1st. I'm hearing vibration as well. I'm not sure if it's coming from the transmission or my exhaust. I'm going to get underneath it and make a check. I just don't like others working on my car even trained Nissan techs. It seems they always miss something or mess something up.

They had to drop the y-pipe to drop the tranny. Check the flanges and the brace that bolts to the bottom of the tranny for the O2 sensors.

Its messed up that when you go to the stealership, they "fix" the issue but they give you 10 rattles and unknown noises......

VIN: Don't have that with me right now..
Purchase Date: 2/14/15 (Used 2011 with 30k miles)
Occurrence Date: 4/28/15
Occurrence Mileage: ~32,500
Clutch Type: OEM

Summary:

2/14/15 - Bought a used 2011 370Z Nismo with 30k miles from Nissan dealership (4 hours from where I live) and fluids were filled and clean when I received the car.

4/28/15 - Clutch goes to the floor and reservoir is empty, 33k miles on the car. Filled up the fluid and drove it home until I could go to the dealership.

5/2/15 - Drop off car at Nissan dealership near my house. They cannot find any leak (MC, CMC, or the clutch line) and say there's a TSB to flush and fill with GTR brake fluid. Also, they say none of this is covered under drive train warranty since there's no visible damages or issues and ask me to pay $320 to have it done.. so I said no and decided to wait until I can make the 4 hour drive to the dealership I got the car at.

5/8/15 - Flush and fill with DOT 4 on my own just to be safe until I can go to dealership (Cost me ~$17). I don't daily the Z so it sat in the garage most of the time until I could take it in.

5/27/15 - I take my car to the original dealership to be inspected. They say the same thing, no visible leak or damages and TSB for GTR fluid. They offer a significant discount on the service so I accepted to at least have it on record that they performed this service and said it would fix my "leak".

6/15/15 - I haven't had any further issue, but to me it seems like the fluid level dropped slightly since it was filled back up...

Brother, I hate to tell you this, but you very well may be on borrowed time, filling the reservior with GTR fluid is a bandaid to a much bigger problem.. you might want to start looking for aftermarket parts..i.e. CSC & CMC.

I concur! Except I would choose a HD CSC to go with new CMC.

How can they inspect the slave cylinder for leaks without dropping the trans???

There is a leak somewhere because the reservoir was empty. Brake fluid doesn't just evaporate into thin air. I'd be contacting nissan consumer affairs.

Edit: Just reread the post (#609). Unless the car has an extended warranty, powertrain does not cover the slave cylinder. Friggin useless warranties!@#

Yeah that's exactly what I'm thinking.. I will be looking into aftermarket parts soon but was hoping to get those parts replaced under warranty. But even if replaced with OEM parts, they will probably eventually fail anyways.

Yeah I don't think the powertrain covers the slave cylinder.. I talked to them about that as well and they said even if they found an issue or leak they aren't sure if they can cover it. But they just did a "visual inspection" and said they couldn't find an issue. And this is 2 different dealerships..
