All oils are not created equal. You have to take into account their shear resistance, how their weights and protective properties are affected by temperatures and high RPM applications, and their detergent properties. There are some crappy synthetic oils out there that can be so bad that they thin out at operating temperature or at high rpms and the molecules start shearing which is when your engine will not be protected adequately.

A quality synthetic oil will resist shearing, have longer life, will not be affected by the demands of high rpm, and will be developed to protect the engines at any condition.
