that's a big miss understanding, You can Get on the car, (punch it, floor it, WOT, whatever you want to call it) as long as the clutch pedal is already fully released and the clutch is engaged. you Don't want to Slip the clutch. (Launching, clutch kicking, or "Riding" the clutch) that will glaze the material and is what will cause the clutch to slip in the future. I'll let Seb explain the details and the Break in Period terms.

This is correct. You can actually go WOT w\o worry. It is the slipping that can damage the clutch. For anyone living in a hilly area will tend to wear clutches out quicker because of this. Also drag racing will typically require slipping of the clutch to get out of the hole. "Riding" the clutch is also a good way to burn up a clutch. When your off the clutch pedal (on the gas) the clutch isn't seeing any "wear" so to speak so no worries going WOT. I typically like to see 200-300 miles of break in miles which is easy street NOT highway miles.
