That should be my next mod after the tt kit.

Great Job...Keep pushing it to the limit:tup: ...I have my full attention on this thread

yeah no kidding I've broken tranny mounts, and diff bushings but clutch and flywheel are just telling me to bring it on. SPL solid diff bushings are going in to take care of that. I'll keep you guys updated. I will be doing a Final Drive swap soon. that will just make things more fun and interesting lol.

SOLID!!!!! Are you guys planning to do a before and after dyno on this kit?

Also Seb...does this Clutch, flywheel, combo require a break in period...I know that some of the aftermarket clutches I've done in the past have done required a 500mile break in before you could get on it

that's a big miss understanding, You can Get on the car, (punch it, floor it, WOT, whatever you want to call it) as long as the clutch pedal is already fully released and the clutch is engaged. you Don't want to Slip the clutch. (Launching, clutch kicking, or "Riding" the clutch) that will glaze the material and is what will cause the clutch to slip in the future. I'll let Seb explain the details and the Break in Period terms.

This is correct. You can actually go WOT w\o worry. It is the slipping that can damage the clutch. For anyone living in a hilly area will tend to wear clutches out quicker because of this. Also drag racing will typically require slipping of the clutch to get out of the hole. "Riding" the clutch is also a good way to burn up a clutch. When your off the clutch pedal (on the gas) the clutch isn't seeing any "wear" so to speak so no worries going WOT. I typically like to see 200-300 miles of break in miles which is easy street NOT highway miles.

So riding or slipping the cutch isn't good. So which combo would u recommend for those of us who drag race or live in hill areas? Is the 6 puck combo better for these conditions? If. So are your 6puck clutches sprung?

ROC1ROB 10-13-2010 08:34 AM

I think "riding the clutch" is the biggest problem for most people. You generate so much heat and this probably causes why our great tranny's fail, as Seb shows us above. I would bet that it's probaly be the reason why people that don't abuse their car, still encounter failure. :shakes head::shakes head: The sooner you engage, the less heat you generate.

Thanks Bardabe for abusing your car for us! I let the big guy know upstairs when I go, that you really aren't as a bad as the people driving beside you, say you are!! :bowrofl: Seb, if you need another test mule PM me, I'll abuse this for you. Sounds like we have a winner here though.

:iagree: I guess I will go with the Sprot 6-Puck Package then since I am an avid drag racer....I hear that the 6-puck can at time be harsh during engagements though...Someone recommended that if I do go with a 6-puck to get one that is sprung, as it's a bit smoother for daily driving....Does anyone know if there is any truth to this?...Seb..is the 6-Puck clutch in the Sport Package come sprung?

yes the sport 6 puck is a sprung disk, Engagement on it is awesome. not harsh at all. I've installed many of these on customer cars, and most of them can't believe its a 6 puck.

Ohhhhh the rainy weather. lol videos coming soon, gave the curb a love tap last night. no damage other than a broken rear valance. (nismo add on) shitty thing is now one of 2 things are going to happen. I get a Full Nismo 380RS-C Kit, or find some genuine Nismo rear Add on's . Clutch held great, but i think in the rain it's almost cheating didn't have to clutch kick all night. haha

ROC1ROB 10-19-2010 11:19 AM

I love Videos. :tiphat: Nice to see you're the "abusive" type.

Still watching Seb.... still watching

Bardabe 10-26-2010 11:24 AM

well I installed the clutch with 53,4xx Miles. as of yesterday my car has 60,408 miles. safe to say I'm about to hit the 7K mile mark with absolutely no problems.. very solid.

destinyZ 10-26-2010 01:30 PM

Think I'll be ordering this clutch/flywheel setup this week. After reading that the z32 got 15-18 WHP!! makes me want to get it and that no one is having issues with the CSC. SEB pm sent man. I don't really want to get burnt but i'm pretty confident that if the 3.0 z32 can gain 15-18WHP, that the z34 with gain 18+WHP. can't believe no one dynoed this yet, or atleast not on this thread!! I would but there is no more dyno in Guam:shakes head:
