Royal purple - oil analysis results

Reminds me of when some AMSOIL goon shows up in an oil thread to play PR doctor.

I'll leave people to make their own decisions, just know you're throwing away money if you buy Royal Purple over any other quality true synthetic oil. If it's on sale, I say go for it; otherwise, it's a rip off

I see no extravagant "claims" by the poster, only that he brings up some valid questions that haven't been covered on an oil analysis on what frankly is almost a new engine, not exactly the right platform to make judgements on. Doesn't seem "goonish" to me at all. You seem to be the one grinding the axe here.

It's actually pretty off color for a manufacturer to chime in on something everybody with half a brain already realizes. However, this is not an "almost" new engine and you would know that if you actually built engines and were aware of exactly how long it takes an engine to "break in" (not very long). After over 2 oil changes those break-in wear particles would have been flushed out. I'm judging based upon UOA's I've seen from similar mileage VHR's on other oils.

Besides, I have no affiliation with any oil company. What do I have to gain or lose based upon which oil you end up choosing? Absolutely NOTHING. I'm just trying to save people some heartache by suggesting they go with oils that experts know to be supreme oils for street/strip-type usage.

I've never known ANYBODY who produces and tunes 1000+ WHP import monsters to recommend or use Royal Purple. Add that to my own personal experience with it, and it's a no brainer.

My brother-in-law's truck has 320,000 miles w/o any deep engine maintenance done to it using Royal Purple, so there! I've never used the stuff (valvoline man myself), just noticed that thou protest too much. That and saying they aren't a real oil company kinda shot your credibility since I knew of them in the petrochemical industry many years ago when they made quite a splash keeping generators running almost 10X as long between rebuilds at Amoco (now BP). Tons of people in that industry jumped on board then. I don't follow the car stuff but I'm sure we could go into all the pro teams that use it. Maybe they've all been hoodwinked as well? They may not have the extended reasources of one blowed up, home built engine like you.

Guys,

I have been discussing my analysis repoprt with the Blacstone folks. The biggest factor that may have affect the values is the addition of the oil cooler. Any new oil cooler will add a fair share of debris into the oil.
I guess the next report will confirm or not the values...
Meanwhile, I wil keep using RP as I did of my previous cars!

Ps. Just to add more "fuel" in that beautifull oil thread, I read somewhere that the Ferrari are using RP gear oil for they road cars. They must have done their homeworks...
